IMVU Kids Mall

So first of all why did you start this kid's mall ?

TriniDee: i started the original kids mall last October to help myself and my friends get their names out. its very competitive when it comes to smaller clothes since there still aren’t many devs making things for smaller people. The old mall reached 10,000 visitors between October 2012 and April 2013 so we decided to expand and make this mall, which is much larger than the old one and has been doing really well so . This mall opened less than 3 weeks ago and has seen almost 3000 visitors already ^_^

Wow, that's amazing !

TriniDee: it has far exceeded any expectations i had for it

I'm not suprised. It's really fantastic that it's been so popular :) Why do you think it's been such a hot spot ?

TriniDee: i really believe the biggest advantage this mall has over any others is that the developers involved spend a lot of time here. people enjoy meeting the devs who make their favorite items, its a personal experience

TriniDee: we greet people here, the visitors arent just shrugged off by us

oOoHannahoOo: this is the only kids mall, and every creator here has a different style too

TriniDee: there have been other kids malls but those were short lived and the developers didnt spend time in them, which is a pity really

That is a shame. What is it that you like about creating so much ?

TriniDee : I’vebeen into smaller shops for kids and was never once greeted, or asked if i needed assistance, the people who ran the room carried on conversations with their friends and family and completely ignored the patron.

TriniDee: We didn’t want that for this experience

Yes, that can be quite frustrating.

TriniDee: I’ve been doing graphic design since i was in my teens, always freelance. i love that i can create beautiful items and have other people enjoy them as much as i do

TriniDee: it’s really fun to.

What about you Hannah ?

oOoHannahoOo: i love creating because..... All the other kids creators (that aren’t in the mall) are self obsessed losers and i don’t want to support them by buying their rubbish? Not being mean... they're all good creators but their personalities are not so good.

TriniDee: there is a lot of love and support between the developers who have shops here. we help each other out in any way we can

TriniDee: its much more like a family here

TriniDee: this is our home away from home so to speak

So how would you describe your style when it comes to creating ?

TriniDee: Mine? it's very well rounded. i try to cover all bases by adding things to my catalog, mostly bundled outfits, that can appeal to a wide range of people. if i make something that is a little more traditional i like to balance it out by making something a little darker for the next outfit

TriniDee: I feel it brings more people to my catalog than if i just limited myself to one style

TriniDee: I also believe in providing an entire look, which is why i do bundles. i don’t want my customers to have issues finding the right shoes or accessories to compliment a dress, i would rather them have it already provided

oOoHannahoOo: i'm more random I just create when i have the inspiration to create. I  can’t create unless im inspired by an idea to create it

Guest_ViolaVanderwoodson: Do you think opening this mall has helped you sell more items ?

oOoHannahoOo: Definately

TriniDee: yes i do ^_^ my sales have increased by at least 50% since the original mall opened last october

TriniDee: people dont always come in to shop but they see our names on the room card and it peeks their interest

: So you mentioned you were BFFs, how long have you been friends for ?

TriniDee: we met last August and our friendship happened almost overnight

oOoHannahoOo: gigggles

oOoHannahoOo: yep

Aww, that's great :)

TriniDee: i love everyone here at the mall, i have known GraceRavenAdelaide since 2009, and LacyBrat is one of the newer shop owners here but she has fit in beautifully

TriniDee: there is a lot of love here

oOoHannahoOo: we're all besties here giggles

So just a few more questions :) How open are you to having other creators open shops in here ?

TriniDee: I'm very open. in fact i have kiosks already made that just need to be textured and coded. I have place for a few more developers and I'm hoping to find at least one that makes boys items. I'm offering those kiosks out at 1000 credits a month and i'm happy to texture and code them if needed or the developer can provide their own flash items to help their business along

oOoHannahoOo: it kind of depends on personalitys

TriniDee: and yes, personality is important. we do everything here as a trial period for 2 to 3 weeks just to see if everything goes well between them, the other devs involved and the customers who visit the mall

Guest_ViolaVanderwoodson: So you are somewhat selective, but still open to the idea ?

TriniDee: oh yesh, we would really like to see more developers open shop here, it would be fun to get to know new faces and also help their catalogs and sales

oOoHannahoOo: c:

oOoHannahoOo: we're especially looking for adeveloper who makes kids boy clothes to make the mall better for both genders

TriniDee: thats been our only issue so far. Families come in looking for items for their sons and nephews but we aren't able to help them. it’s a little discouraging since it is called the "Kids Mall" and not the Little Girls Mall lol

I have noticed while looking through the shop that there really aren't many devs for male kids clothes period. Could you recomend any at all to our readers ?

MissChiVeeious: Boys clothes are expensive to make and to be honest they don’t sell very well. However we still want to be able to have something for boys anyways

TriniDee: I don’t personally know any boy devs.

TriniDee: a few of the developers at the mall have an item or two for boys, Hannah has a couple and PrincsCherishofSouls has a few items as well

oOoHannahoOo: boys clothes are hard to find because they haven't got chests to get rid of to become a kid like girl kids do

That makes sense. How would you all describe your personal style and do you think that reflects at all in the clothing you make ?

TriniDee: my personal style is eclectic. i have a very well rounded taste in clothes, music and interests. i feel that it allows me to provide diversity in my catalog that isn’t seen in many others. most developers tend to find a style they like and they stick to it. i'm always trying new things and pushing myself to think outside the box. i have never been one to limit my styles in rl and i don’t want to do that on here.

oOoHannahoOo: i dont really have a style. i am generally just a really random person and so is my catty

oOoHannahoOo: i just stick to creating kid related things as a whole

Guest_ViolaVanderwoodson: What about you Miss.Chi ?

MissChiVeeious: i dont create :( yet

MissChiVeeious: giggles

Guest_ViolaVanderwoodson: right, sorry :)

MissChiVeeious: i want to though, right now I’m a manager here at the mall and a model for all of the developers involved here

Are you planning on creating in the near future?

MissChiVeeious: i hope so lol. i know how to do graphics and trini has offered to help if i want to learn to apply them to catalog items.
